I have to go with a classic, age-old meme: ALIENS. What's great about this is there have been so many spin-offs to layer this meme, such as:

"Boy run towards the camera"

  • I would record a mid shot, around his waist, of a boy simply running to the camera, then maybe as he gets closer, change camera to view him running from the back.

"Frightened boy run towards the camera"

  • I would have the boy sprinting, and maybe have the camera work back with him, so we constantly see his clearly frightened face.

"Intelligent boy run towards the camera"

  • I would have him looking determined, like he has a destination. Maybe also wearing glasses. I also imagine a mid-shot scene of this.

I think I've decided to make my video project a spoof of a how-to video on converting photo negatives to digital at home, and even adding some overlay images in scenes of the images too. I'll achieve this through quick, back to back scenes of the typical "aesthetic" how-to set up vs. more raw footage of me f'ing up.

The who will clearly be myself, so I'll have shots with a clear focus on the "master"; myself.

The what will be developing, or learning to self-develop photo negatives. To get this I'll have clear cut scenes of the process (naturally as a tutorial, duh).

The where will be at home mostly; it is an at home-project. I'll have wider shots showing a clear angle of me in my bedroom/ living room, or if I'm at school I'll make it obvious other students are in the shot/ other computers (with their permission of course).

The when will be kind of obvious; both myself and my room is pretty clearly indicator of college kid in present day. The actual time of day I'd imagine doesn't matter. Also, the photo negatives I'm developing are of old photos of my family, so it will be evident there's a time leap.

The why behind this video? I'll make it clear that the photos are of my family's history. I'll probably make it clear that family is an obvious value of mine. You'll see a frame of me and my nephew in the background. I'll add cut scenes "catching" me admiring a photo, maybe, with the use of close-up's as the author suggests.

The how will be pretty obvious, as a how-to video (BLAR). I'll have to weave in MCU's of say just my hands doing the work, physically or on the computer, and just the process of the photo as well.
